SPARC gets nearly $550,000 in grant money

The SPARC Network (Supporting Performing Arts in Rural Communities) has announced that it is embarking on an exciting new project thanks to a three-year $548,000 Grow grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
In a June 22 news release, it said the grant was awarded in late 2015, and will allow SPARC to expand and strengthen a province-wide network of performing arts creators, producers, presenters and animateurs in the four disciplines - theatre, music, dance and media arts.
Some of the grant money has gone into hiring Greg Thomas, SPARC's new network coordinator.
Read all about it in the June 30 edition of the Haliburton Highlander.
